Diamond Clarity or Color?!

If you were to choose between a Diamond's Clarity or Color, which one would you choose?! That is a a tricky question, but the answer is actually very simple.

First, let us introduce you to two important components of the 4Cs used in grading any diamond:-

1- Clarity - This refers to the cleanness of the diamond of any inclusions and blemishes. Most people will choose an 'Eye Clean' diamond in which inclusions are only visible through a microscope.

2- Color - This grading is actually used with white diamonds. Diamonds are graded on on a scale of Z to D , with D being the most colorless and Z being slightly yellowish / brownish in color.

Now to be honest, all 4Cs should be considered while choosing your diamond, however, you can get a quiet beautiful one that suits your budget depending on at least those 2 grading factors.

Both, color and clarity will hugely affect the appearance of your diamond. A diamond with lower clarity will make it look dull and reduce its spark, while a lower grade will make it look sort of muddy! However, you can prioritize looking for an 'Eye Clean' diamond first where the inclusions are minimal or let's say, are not so visible to the naked eye. You can then move to the color part, and you can try to start from a lower grade until you find the right color that goes along the clarity of your diamond. A lower color grade with the right clarity can still look very pretty!!

One more tip, diamond shapes also play an important role in this process, for example, consider better clarity with shapes like Emerald, Asscher, and Princess cut diamonds, on the other hand, shapes like Oval, Pear, Radiant, Cushion, and Round diamonds hide inclusions pretty well, so you can go a bit lower on the clarity scale.

In 'Ebzeem', we believe that color and clarity complete each other, and always prefer to have the best options and best quality of diamonds, therefore, most of our diamonds are within a clarity grade of VS1 and above , and a color scale of D-F.  Nevertheless, if our customers prefer to go lower than this for any reason, we can gladly do that for them.

The Tables below will help you get a better understanding of the color and clarity scales.
