I would like to talk to you today about one of the most important topics in the jewelry industry, that is 'Gold Purity'.
Sadly, dishonesty and fraud have recently been widely spread in the Gold market, where some gold sellers and suppliers tend to manipulate the percentage of gold used in jewelry! For example, you might find the outer layer to be gold while the rest of the piece will just be a mixture of different metals (in many cases these are mostly toxic and harmful)! Unfortunately, some jewelry shops are misinformed or tend to neglect this point, therefore, at 'Ebzeem' we save our customer's right through the 'Gold Purity Test'.
This test is done through the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (Oman), which tests the percentage of gold in each and every jewelry piece. They conduct 2 types of tests:-
-The Karameter Test: which uses X-rays to give the exact readings of gold
-The Fire Assay Test : This is used more often now due to its accuracy. In this test the jewelry piece gets melted or burnt a little bit to check the exact proportion of gold in it.
After carrying out one of the above tests, the Ministry then classifies the jewelry according to the amount of Gold included (18 K, 21 K, etc). The final step is when the Ministry approves the piece and stamps it! Hence, all our jewelry are certified and approved legally, and this definitely provides a Guarantee to all our customers.
